A free TI-30XS calculator, right in your browser
This calculator is modeled on the TI-30XS Multiview — a simple, non-graphing scientific calculator that's one of the most widely allowed calculators on standardized tests. It covers fractions, trig, logs, powers and roots, percent, and memory, without the graphing, matrices, or statistics tools a TI-84 Plus CE has.
Need graphing, matrices, statistics, or an equation solver instead? Try the TI-84 Plus CE calculator. Not sure which one you need? Compare the TI-30XS and TI-84 Plus CE.
Shortcuts & syntax
What can this calculator do?
Basic arithmetic, fractions (with a F↔D fraction/decimal toggle), sin/cos/tan and their inverses, log and ln, powers and roots, percent, permutations and combinations (nPr/nCr), scientific and engineering notation, and single-value memory (M+, M-, MR, MC). It does not graph — for graphing, matrices, statistics, or a full equation solver, use the TI-84 Plus CE calculator.
Keyboard shortcuts
Type numbers and + − × (as *) ÷ (as /) directly. Press Enter or = to evaluate, Backspace to delete, and Escape to clear the current entry. % types a percent sign, and ^ raises to a power.
How does the fraction toggle work?
Tap F↔D (or the DEC/FRAC label above the display) to switch the result between decimal and its simplest fraction form — the same conversion a real TI-30XS does when you press its fraction key.
How does memory work?
M+ adds the current answer to memory, M- subtracts it, MR recalls the stored value into your entry, and MC clears memory back to zero. An M indicator appears above the display whenever memory holds a nonzero value.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a real TI-30XS, or an emulator?
It's an original web app inspired by the TI-30XS Multiview's layout and function set — not a ROM emulator and not affiliated with Texas Instruments. It runs entirely in your browser, with no download or install.
Can I use this on the SAT, ACT, or a state exam?
This web app itself isn't allowed during a proctored exam — but the TI-30XS Multiview it's modeled on is one of the most commonly permitted calculators for tests that ban graphing calculators. Use this tool to practice with the same function set beforehand.
Does this calculator graph?
No — by design, matching the real TI-30XS. If you need graphing, matrices, statistics, or an equation solver, try the full TI-84 Plus CE calculator instead.
Is my memory value saved if I close the tab?
Yes — your memory value, angle mode, notation, and last answer are saved locally in your browser and restored next time you visit.
How do I use a TI-30XS calculator?
Type an expression the same way you'd write it on paper, then press Enter to evaluate. Use F↔D to switch a result between decimal and fraction, sin/cos/tan (with 2nd for their inverses) for trig, and M+/MR for memory. The blog has a full step-by-step walkthrough if you want more detail.
